Hugh Donaldson - Production Manager
With 35+ years in the industry, Hugh joined Sydenham Joinery in 1993. His responsibilities include job planning and scheduling for commercial and residential jobs, organising delivery and installation, and general liaison with everybody.
Essentially, the buck stops with Hugh!
His good all round knowledge of the trade means that your job is in good hands every step of the way. Hugh is particularly proud that at Sydenham Joinery, whatever you need making, we have a man here to make it. As well as joinery, Hugh enjoys touch rugby and follows most sports.
John Baker Jnr - Kitchen Workshop Foreman
One of our `old hands' and a highly-skilled craftsman John Baker Jnr has over 30 years experience in the joinery trade. After all this time the ever-evolving nature of joinery sees John still enjoying his job.
He particularly enjoys detailed work and problem-solving, and his extensive knowledge of different materials and joinery techniques give him a definite edge when faced with a tricky or challenging situation.
Unrelated to John Baker Snr, John's working relationship with Sydenham Joinery goes back to his apprenticeship days when he completed his apprenticeship together with Bernie and Hugh at Sydenham Timber. Outside of work John enjoys Ballroom Dancing (he is particularly proud of the fit-out we completed for Dance Club Canterbury) and reckons his Cha-cha is right up there!
Gavin Falkingham
A quality craftsman of few words who really knows his timber, Gavin is happy to let his work do the talking. Renowned at Sydenham Joinery for his intricate work and attention to detail, Gavin has over 35 years in the trade and joined us in 2006. He is now in charge of our timber joinery division.
One of Gavin's particular interests outside of work is sailing.
Toby Kehl
Having completed his apprenticeship in St Gallen, Switzerland Toby brings a distinctly European flavour to our joinery team. Working primarily on commercial projects, he enjoys a challenge and takes pride in producing quality work.
Toby also loves chocolate and has carved his name in Sydenham Joinery's history by eating a 1 KG bar of Swiss chocolate on his own...
Grant Weston
Grant gets satisfaction from seeing a job through from start to finish and likes to keep you informed as your job progresses. You might hear from him about colour choices or changes in materials. He will liaise with you and your designer to ensure that everything goes smoothly with your kitchen design.
Richard Jones - Number 1 Installer
As our `number 1 installer' Richard's in charge of organising and running our kitchen installations. A skilled joiner, he'll always make sure that your job is finished to a high standard.
Richard really enjoys standing back at the end of a job and seeing a great result, and when he's not busy with installations, also enjoys a spot of downhill mountain biking.
